Stabilization of Lateritic Soil for Road Application Using Lime and Cow Bone Ash
نویسندگان
چکیده
Roads should possess sufficient strength to support wheel loads imposed upon them either during construction or the service life of pavement. It is sometimes necessary treat soils provide a stable subgrade working platform for road surface. Cow bones scattered in Nigerian meat markets and abattoirs have become an environmental concern, hence need seek alternative uses them. This study concentrated on stabilizing potential cow bone ash (CBA) as eco-friendly bio-waste material lime stabilization lateritic soil application. aimed at achieving effective utilization practicable by attempting identify best percentages stabilizers (binders) needed improve soil. Based this, identified methods that were used samples obtained from Ado-Ikere road, Ado Ekiti state, Nigeria method using sample. The following laboratory tests experiments carried out: sieve analysis, atterberg limits, compaction, california bearing ratio (CBR) thermo-scientific X-ray fluorescence (XRF). They investigate influence Different (2%, 4%, 6%, 8% 10%) respectively samples. Also, different proportions addition explored stabilize CBR test results showed 8%, being optimum amount binder CBA increased also revealed can be

Permeability of Lateritic Soil Treated with Lime and Rice Husk Ash
A-7-6 lateritic soil was treated at British Standard Light (BSL) compaction energy with up to 8% lime content (by dry weight of the soil) at 2% variations and each was admixed with up to 8% rice husk ash (RHA) at 2% variations. Effects of the ash on the soil-lime mixtures were investigated with respect to unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and coefficient of permeability. The UCS of the spec...
متن کاملA Comparative Study B/W Black Cotton Soil and Alluvial Soil for Economical Pavement Design by Lime & Fly-Ash Stabilization
As we know the road development is one of the major parts of growing infrastructure & Pune, which is expanding at a very fast rate, the construction of roads is of major concern. Fly Ash is one of the abundant forms of Solid Waste produced at thermal power plants. Its disposal is a big problem keeping both these concerns in mind it was tried to come out with a project which will integrate Road ...
متن کاملSoil Stabilization using Rice Husk Ash and Cement
Soil stabilization has become a major issue in construction engineering and the researches regarding the effectiveness of using industrial wastes are rapidly increasing. The present experimental work briefly describes the suitability of the locally available Rice Husk Ash (RHA) to be used in the local construction industry in a way to minimize the amount of waste to be disposed to the environme...

Stabilization/solidification of Iron Ore Mine Tailings Using Cement, Lime and Fly Ash
Current research emphasis is more on the utilization of materials that are considered as waste. Tailings and fly ash are major category of industrial wastes, whose disposal is problematic from environmental point of view. In this present research, Industrial byproducts, namely, lime (CaO) and class F type fly ash have been used as candidate materials along with the partial addition of ordinary ...
